8 Spooky Riddles - Hallo-Week Community Event

As the nights draw in and Winter approaches its time to snuggle down and try to keep warm.

So while you get comfortable, turn on the heating and warm up with a cup of tea, how about getting your teeth into these 8 spooky riddles dying to be solved!

Happy Hallo-Week to you all and welcome to my Spooky Riddles for the Community Event.

8 Riddles Loosely Themed Around Spooky and Creepy Things

Before we begin there are a few rules I want to add in order to help everyone feel included:

1. I will release one riddle at a time and reply to answers submitted - When a correct answer is received I will release the next riddle in the comments. (I will not be able to edit my original post to add the new riddles due to the O2 time constraints of editing a post)
2. Please only guess once in a row - To allow other to join in please only submit another guess or answer the new riddle if someone other than me has posted in between your last reply.
3. If the game is particularly slow (which could be the case due to having this event in the evening) please disregard rule 2 and feel free to submit a second answer in a row, this mainly applies if no other guesses have been received for at least 15 minutes.
4. I have tried to have put the riddles into a scaling difficulty, however at any point if you would like a clue please let me know in the comments so I can reply with a hint - Please bear in mind I will wait at least 15 minutes after a request of a clue in case someone else answers.
5. Hopefully you'll all enjoy this game, I believe all riddles to be solvable with thought so for the enjoyment of others please avoid using google or otherwise seeking out the answers just to post them here.

RIDDLE ONE:

I am wrapped, but I am not a gift, I’m considered a scary at Halloween but my name is someone you can’t live without?

Don't forget to follow this threads comments to see the new riddles and play along because as mentioned they will be released one by one in the comments once the previous riddle is solved. (This is due to the maximum edit time of my original post)

Hahaha, I loved returning to this game and finding these comical answers. First up it's probably worth mentioning that the letters BobM wrote down aren't the correct letters, so since then nobody has stood a chance of getting it right. Although I have very much giggled at what you have managed to come up with despite the wrong letters.

BobM - Catbats is great guess using those letters and your answer did make me laugh, but I need to ask where the second "T" came from? Double check the first letter from each riddle answers that I gave as correct... ie:

A COFFIN becomes "A"     and

THE LETTER 'I' becomes "T"    etc.

Then using those 8 letters you need to make a 7 letter word that links to the theme of the riddles so its a bit spooky or creepy. 

Cleoriff - Great word play with the letters you were given but unfortunately they weren't the correct letters so your answer of Batcast isn't right I'm afraid. You seem to be fantastic at anagrams though so it's definitely worth going back through the first few pages of this riddle game to get the correct answers I wrote in bold and taking the first letter from each of them. Hint there is only 1 "T".

pgn - I love that fact you found a picture to back up your answers but unfortunately I have to be the bearer of bad news because due to the letters you were using, your guess is ultimately incorrect. Sorry. However I don't want to make it too easy which means I haven't listed the correct letters here so you may want to have a check of the 8 letters yourself.

Finally everyone the BONUS RIDDLE is still open so I've added a mini clue below, at around 4pm today if the bonus riddle is still unsolved I will add the 8 letters needed as well as clue two. Also at 7pm if it's still unsolved I will reveal the 7 letters needed and one final clue.

You are making a 7 letter word from 8 letters, the 1 letter that isn't used is taken from a riddle answer that itself would likely be used in the 7 letter word anagram.

Blood would be left out, but used in any such rituals (based on my Hocus Pocus and Sherlock viewing!)

Better than my SABBATIC, which uses all 8 letters, assuming the Butler was in on the act. 🤔

I can confirm that BobM is correct so a very well done for solving the bonus riddle 👏 - SATANIC

Special mention to TallTrees and pgn for chiming in on the bonus riddle to back up BobM's guess. Amazing work by pgn to come up with SABBATIC which is an 8 letter word and based on the Buttler not collecting the post. (making one of the letters a "B" not an "N")

I only choose SATANIC as it fitted into the theme of the riddle quiz but admit another combination could be rearranged to make abstain. However wasn't as Halloweeny and I used the plural of it in my riddle quiz back in the Summer.

For anyone wondering the letter/ riddle answer left out, was B - BLOOD. (As mentioned by pgn - Based on pop culture this seems to be an element in some satanic rituals. Although I confess I've only ever seen such rituals on TV and film)

This concludes my Riddle Quiz for the Hallo-Week Community Event. Thanks to all the players: pgn, jonsie, TallTrees, Cleoriff and Mi-Amigo for making this event a successful. Sorry about a couple of the riddles that had some of you stumped but very well done for your tenacity to work though them all including the bonus one at the end. You all helped make this event a success in my eyes. Thank you.
