The Who

Hi everyone, I hope you had a lovely weekend! slight_smile

The Who will be performing their Moving On! Show at the Wembley Stadium in London, on 6th July 2019! Priority tickets will be available on Wednesday 30th January.

The gig will be backed by a symphonic orchestra! On stage you will see guitarist/backup singer Simon Townsend, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button and drummer Zak Starkey. There's also a a couple of special guests announced so far: Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder as well as Kaiser Chiefs!

I've just read on their official website something that should add even more excitement for the fans: The Who will also be releasing a new album later this year, for the first time in 13 years! Happy Dance

Here's one of my favourite songs by The Who:

Let us know in the comments if you're a fan of The Who, what your favourite songs are from them, and if you're interested in the new show in July? slight_smile

I've just told him. He's quite sad as he thought Animal was classic Keith Moon at his 'maddest'

Though if the book he read about The Who stated this, it's probably because the author was taken in by the legend as well joy

He shouldn't feel too sad, @Cleoriff, until I found that link I'd always thought Keith Moon had inspired the character, but the others that have been suggested make sense too.

What a coincidence. Here we are discussing Animal and a Muppets advert appeared on the TV promoting Barclaycard. Animal is in it, being as mad as ever....LOL

I saw the original Who - with John Entwhistle and Keith Moon - in Birmingham pre-Tommy and on the Qudraphenia tour in Wolverhampton.

Fav songs? There are so many, but include:

My Generation

Baba O`Reilly

Who Are You

I`m Free (from Tommy)

5:15 (from Quadraphenia)

and Happy Jack (which was inspired by and played to death on Radio Caroline North which was anchored off the Isle of Man)

Some people see things as they are and ask "Why?"; I dream of things that never were and ask "Why not?"
