A recent Amazon Prime expired and new O2 subscription

First time poster and 02 customer. 

my current non Amazon prime subs expires on 5 October. I have cancelled on renewal

if I purchase 02 extra Amazon Prime and activate in 6 October, will it apply to the same Amazon account ?

lots of differing opinions in the Tinternet so personal recent experience would be useful before I gamble!
