Bought kid phone for school and he will be using public transport for the first time on his own - whats the best way to make sure he arrives safely - can I put something on his phone to track him

I have heard that Famisafe is good (no experience myself) easy to set up and a small time trial then about £5 per month.
Good if you could do some research online see what is about.
