Where do I enter the code when trying to log into my account?

When I try logging into my account on the O2 website I get a security message, and a code is sent to my phone.

The problem is there's nowhere on the website to enter the code!

I thought it was impossible to access my account because of this but when I click My O2 I'm logged in any way - so what is the point of a system that sends a useless code?

Thankfully, I've not been asked to change my passwords. Probably as I'm on PC. Phone and laptop always seem to have their own specific problems

As I don't have a box to put the security code in, I'm able to ignore the texts sent to the phone and then just click in this https://community.o2.co.uk/  which takes me to my own home page.

An interesting nugget I found here https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/our-latest-pay-monthly-tariff-terms which may explain all the sign-in shenanigans lately:

Pay Monthly Tariff Terms (if you are on a Pay Monthly tariff from 10 August 2021).

We’re in the process of moving every O2 account over to a new and improved system. This new system will give you a better experience when you’re talking to our customer service teams and when you’re making purchases. It’ll also make it faster for us to develop and deliver new products to everyone on O2. To find out if you’re on the new system yet, ask us on Live Chat or over the phone.

I was using phone this morning and met with the change password malarkey. I'm not doing that as I have no idea what it will do to my access on PC. I just came out of the O2 site on my phone. Sod it I thought!!!

I normally use the My O2 app for everything but needed to look at the upgrade options.

After the hassle I had here I decided it was too much hassle to sign in to my account and rather than get a new phone from O2 I bought a SIM-free one from somewhere else.

Yes, O2, because of your useless security you've lost out on my upgrade.

"Hey, O2, 'if you could avoid laying your problems on us as well, I think we'd all find it easier to cope!'" (to paraphrase Ford Prefect) 😖

Satisfaction 1, O2 nil.

Good luck, @RustyKnight.

PS. Thanks for the Solution, too 👍

Try disabling any ad blocker you might have installed and see if the security code box appears.

Same problem as OP - needed to download a copy of a recent bill, from myO2. So logged in and was met with the security check screen, code was sent via text, BUT nowehere on the screen to enter the code.

Tried on Firefox, Chrome, and Edge browsers (all with adblockers disabled).

Just got off the phone with o2 about the problem - they were about as much use as a chocolate fireguard!

Stating they 'werent aware of any issues'.

Has anyone here found a resolution to this problem which judging from the posts here is quite common.

Hi @RustyKnight

Mine was the same as you are experiencing, no box to put the code in....luckily at the very top of the screen in small writing was Hi Denise (which showed I was actually logged in!)

So eventually, I changed my password and that cured it. I have never had the security  box since. Now I can log in as normal.
