a couple of months ago I chose to pay forward several months of my bill in order to not have to think about it for a while. My (My O2) still shows as being in credit by £3. However I am now receiving automated messages about how I have "not paid a bill", up to and including debt-collection threats.

Once this issue is resolved @JBW86, you will not have to think about paying in the future if you set up a direct debit :-
