As some are aware from time to time you are requred to enter a code supplied by text to access MyO2
This is great but if you have no access to your O2 number for any reason it becomes a right pain.
The answer is to to give a different number in your contact details. Now when you need an access code it can be sent to your standard O2 number or the one you have supplied in your contact details
Not prefect, but an improvement

Good tip, @Enlli - for those with only a single mobile, perhaps they could add in the number of another Family member who will receive the OTP warning and OTP PIN 👍
In MyO2 via browser, go to MyO2> Manage your details, then:
Scroll down to Other Phones, click Add new number button:
You get two choices - have not tried to add in a mobile number yet, but looks promising:
Worth a few tests at a quiet time - great idea, @Enlli.

Great idea @Enlli
I only have one mobile, it's not dual sim but my other half is also with O2, so could use his.... or as you suggest @pgn, my landline could be a second number.
In fact when I do my online grocery shop, the supermarket I use, gives me the option to receive the code via mobile, landline or email.

Exactly what a mature business like a supermarket chain would research, plan, design and do, but what a greedy cheapskate telecoms company whose only customer research is a persistent, useless, pop-up on a user-supported Community Forum, would add only in retrospect, if ever, eventually.
I feel better now 👍🏼

The emoticons on this forum do not really cover someone venting or letting off steam. The best that I could come up with was :-
😤
🍜
And that blasted pop-up has just reared its head again ! 👍

Meant to ask, @Oxonian - what has the 🍜 emoticon got to do with letting off steam when the pop-up intrudes? (Like it just has, as I type this 🚂!)

I've just added 2 mobile numbers (used the international number option)
Typically didn't give me the option of adding a + sign so just added normal mobile numbers without the international prefix
Yet to be tested .....
