Money taken out

I refunded my phone within the 14 day cooling period and received the upfront cost of the phone back. However, the airtime cost has been taken from my account and I assume the device cost will be soon too as this would be the first bill. But i returned my phone which cancels the contract? and i did not use the phone at all when I had it, i didnt even open the box so i shouldnt receive any charges. Do i get the first bill refunded? Why are they taking it out of my account when it should be cancelled now?

You need to check with O2.

You should be refunded if you didn't use the phone at all.
