Default on credit filed causing massive issue getting a mortgage

I received a default letter on 5/4/23 and called up on the 11/4/23 to question this and was told it had been paid.

 

In May my mortgage adviser did a soft credit search for our mortgage application and it showed my default was still showing up on my credit report. I called up immediately and was told that i had to pay again to get it cleared and it wouldn't show on my credit report anymore.

 

Today our mortgage adviser did a full credit search for our mortgage and it came back with the default still on my credit report and now the our mortgage has been rejected because of this and we now will not be able to get a mortgage for this house or any other house.

 

This has caused massive stress to our health and potential ruined our future.
