Accidentally over payed whilst changing my tariff to £10. O2 took £20 out of my account instead of £10. Rang up for a refund which the man on the phone agreed to do. Tried to sell me a contract as soon as I said I wasn't interested. He wouldn't refund me.

Presumably @Refund8 you are on O2 PAYG ?

If so, refunds are only available in a small and clearly defined set of circumstances ; what the advisor told you is almost certainly correct. 👍

@Refund8 - Refunds are possible under some circumstances but usually only when cancelling a PAYG contract with a PAC to another network OR if you transfer to a monthly contract with O2.

I see the upselling is getting aggressive again.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
