HI everyone
I am new to forums, so bear with me
I have had a Samsung Galaxy 2s since it came out, am able to upgrade phone for first time in Sept I think.
The phone signal seems to have virtually disappeared inside my bungalow recently. I get internet through Sky wifi, and that is ok. O2 coverage checker says network is ok.
Since an automatic Samsung update a while back, the phone has become unresponsive and slow, ie. Outlook/hotmail trys to load, screen goes black for a few seconds and I sit there getting crosser waiting for it to load.
Is there any solution to these problems or should I try to upgrade to a different phone when I am able? I don't want Nokia or Iphone, was happy with Samsung but are there now issues with those phones?
Appreciate any help and I will send you a virtual beer! lol.

After any major upgrade you should back up the phone and do a factory reset and restore from backup. This is because the original software could conflict with the new upgrade and could well be a factor in the problems you are experiencing.

Claire
do you mean the status checker http://status.o2.co.uk or just the coverage map?

Have you checked the status of the network at your location here: http://status.o2.co.uk
It could be a problem with the network in your area.
As for the upgrade option, you do reailse there are other options rather than just Samsung, Apple and Nokia? However why don't you want either of these manufacturers? You have the Samsung G3 and G4 available...as well as the new BlackBerry phones.

HI, thanks for replying..
I checked the status earlier and it said there were no issues at present with the call side of things.

HI
I have checked status, all ok it says for calls.
I hope to upgrade to Samsung S4 if the slow response problem is not an issue. I dont like blackberries' keyboard/screen, and like the Android system better.
A friend said the recent Samsung update might be the cause of this phone seizing up.

This may sound obvious but have you taken the battery out your phone, removed your SIM, cleaned the contacts on it, put it back in and then put the battery back in?
It could be any number of things that have caused the phone to start acting up. If you go into Settings and then Storage, how much space do you have free?
Have you had a look at the new Blackberrys? The Z10 has a touchscreen and the operating system is arguably far better than Android.

Hi
I will try the clean contacts/battery etc. I have loads of free space as don't store music etc on phone, just use it for surfing facebook, few photos, the odd text and chat.

As PapaDug said, if you are going to upgrade consider the Z10, my daughter has one and she highly recommends it.
