pay up front for life cancelled by o2!!

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have had a "pay up front for life" contract for many years. Without notice or regret, O2 have changed it to a £35 per month contract. The reason given is a change to a new computer system causing it to "lose" some or all of the Pay up front contracts!!
Can they legally breach the contract?
Has anyone else suffered this?

You will need to take that up with Customer Service ; this is a customer to customer forum and we cannot deal with specific account queries.

If you do not feel like 'phoning again, O2's social media team have a good reputation. You can message them on :-

Facebook : https://o2uk.co/O2CFB

X (previously known as Twitter) : https://o2uk.co/O2CTW

Instagram : https://o2uk.co/O2CIG

Other ways of contacting O2 are in :-

I honestly don't know what the complaint is. PUFFL customers get what they signed up to, in many cases a couple of decades ago.

O2 have kept their side of the bargain

Not true actually as when we paid for these SIMs for life the tariff included 0870 numbers which O2 regained on later.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

The image deleted by moderator did not contain any personal details; it showed a list of charges for my PUFFL SIM consisting only of the O2 SMS centre number.

Every time I switch on my PUFFL SIM to connect to a network outside the UK I am charged 13p for my iPhone connecting to the O2 SMS server for the purpose of iMessage and possibly Visual Voicemail.

These charges keep happening even though I am not sending any texts.

You might not be sending them but your phone is as part of a handshake to register to iMessages @jTemplar

As such, your device is causing the message to be sent (even if you are not actually hitting send) so you are being charged for them.

Turn off iMessaging and VVM and it should stop...

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).
