o2 Business Contract - Sign Up Requirements

Hi there,

I'm just helping a family member who is currently at the end of their personal o2 contract to upgrade to a new phone. They currently run their own business and do not have any other employees working under them.

Are they able to upgrade their personal o2 contract (currently on a refresh plan) to an o2 business contract? If so, what would the minimum requirements be for this?

The reason we are checking is because the business plans look to be better value than a personal plan if you're genuinely running a business. However, there does not seem to be much information online about this if you are looking to sign up for a business contract as a sole trader.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

Well we are all customers on the forum, so it will be best to contact O2

Check whether the prices you see are VAT inclusive. I suspect his business is too small to be VAT registered

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@RichieRich

Anyone can have a business contract regardless of having an actual business.

Check the small print as the T&C's are different, but if it suits your friend there's no reason why they can't have one.

Personally I would never have a business contract

There are limitations compared to consumer contract and some expensive costs

My recommendation is to look at O2 contracts on USwitch - much cheaper for much more data

Their contracts take you to the O2 website to complete

Just to say I got a 12 month SIM only via U-Switch. Unlimited calls, Text and 20Mb of data.

Used it to get Volt. So double SIM data to 40Mb as a speed increase on Virgin Broadband.
