:robotindifferent:I have a pay & go sim which I have put into a modem which is controlling a heating system The idea is that when there is a fault with the system it sends me a text message where then I can dial into it and the modem will answer and allow me to restart the system by means of data transfer BUT I'm told there is a data telephone number aswell as the normal number could someone give me this number because when we ring the phone number it just rings

Could be a fault with the modem, have you tried the makers, and does the sim have any credit on it?

If you call customer service they should be able to give you the data number from their network systems, if they have taken it off & put you on GPRS you should be able to request that data and fax be readded to the network.

Not on a Pay & Go SIM I'm afraid. It would have to be a contract SIM.
