changing mobile numbers without telling me!

Anonymous
Not applicable
this morning I received a text from o2 stating - "O2: we're all set to move your number to us today, it will be completed by 6pm. when your phone stops working, turn it off and on to get it up and running".

then late afternoon I got a call from orange asking if my PAC change had gone through ok, i explained i hadn't asked for one and wasn't with orange. i then rang o2 who looked at my account and confirmed that i hadn't asked for any changes and all was ok.

I then discovered my phone wasn't accepting incoming calls and when dialing out it was now coming from a different mobile number
I then phoned o2 again and spoke to someone that said, when changing over an account, had put my mobile number in by mistake and had therefore changed my number. she tried to look into it but said it couldn't be fixed until the morning and that she wasn't due in until 12pm so would leave her manager to look into it.

I can not believe that human error has made this happen and my mobile number, which i use for business, has been changed like this. it has already affected my business this afternoon and it needs fixing.

I am looking for someone to fix this and get to the bottom of how this was able to happen.

Hi.

To be honest that's the first time I've heard of this happening.

O2 = Fail.

If they did this to me I'd be complaining VERY loudly.

You can always move elsewhere if don't like the way O2 works.

This was obviously an error and there isn't a company in the world that doesn't make mistakes.

Good afternoon Richard.

Errors are always going to be made and then in my opinion it's how the error is rectified.

Anyone experiencing similar to the OP is warranted to complain constructively.

There must be someone on Orange who's lost their number too......?
Mind you, it must be the first time an Orange to O2 port has worked first time wink
