Yodel

I've just been subjected to one of the worst weeks of my life, courtesy of the cretinous couriers Yodel! Has anyone else had problems with them? I'm in the stage of putting in a formal complaint to them so I'd be very interested to hear other people's views and experiences!

Don't get me started on Yodel and O2 oh go on then!!
Ordered upgrade phone on Monday (Bank Holiday), didn't expect it Tuesday but Wednesday yes (Free Next Day delivery advertised all over the site). Got a text on Tuesday at 8 am from O2 we'll call you within the hour, didn't happen. 😐 . Got another text at lunchtime saying we'll call you shortly. Which they did and I confirmed the delivery address (work), technical issue with their website when I ordered. Advised phone was going out on "Standard Delivery" 😐 😐 but delivery was not affected by the delay in me confirming the delivery address.
Wednesday morning no change in order status, started a online chat, apparently phone was out of stock on Tuesday, no mention of this in the call I got on Tuesday. :womanindifferent: Told phone would be with me Thursday.
Then Yodel got hold of it, left their depot for delivery at 8.30 am at 3.30 pm the delivery status was upated to "Unable to gain timely access" we have a bit of building work going on at work at the minute there are huge signs saying this way car park, this way deliveries (I mean 40ft containers here). It seems the Yodel driver couldn't be bothered to make the effort. We have had a number of couriers making deliveries for weeks no problem.
Spent 30 minutes ranting/on hold with O2 last night (didn't help that the phone was being offered with a free x box yesterday for one day only) got told the earliest Yodel could re-deliver was Monday! :robotmad: . I would have cancelled the contract but apparently as I paid (£10.21) to upgrade about 28 days early i'd waived my right to the cooling off period. Eventually settled for a £15 credit to my account and i'm going to Yodel tomorrow morning to pick the phone up myself (had to ring them myself in the end).
I have no problems with the O2 network but every two years upgrades just turn into a horrific experience. I just forget how really poor their customer service is. Maybe next time i'll remember.

once the goods leave o2 the courier is the issue and yodel or home delivery network as they were get lots of bad comments on here, time o2 should look at the contract between them and yodel and chose another provider.
perhaps all that have issues need to raise formal complaints to o2 via the complaint review service details on the support pages search complain.

Never had any issues with Yodel or HDN. Deliveries always on time and as expected. Obviously I only get a delivery from o2 about once every 18 months but another company I buy from regularly uses them too.
o2 has used the company for years but then again Telefonica also has the communications contract for DHL. DHL UK Domestic is no longer part of DHL, it's now Yodel so...less of an incentive to stay loyal? Only time will tell.
Also, I'd imagine Yodel is cheaper than the likes of UPS, DPD etc. They mainly delivey items for catalogue companies like Littlewoods. This is probaly what allows o2 to offer the free delivery.

I am wating for a delivery now, and the online status shows out for delivery.
As somebody that has worked in the transport/courier/logistics industries for some time, I am interested to see how this goes.
I sit 10 foot from the front door, and the buzza will wake the dead ,so if I see a card through the door then that will get me going! LOL
Will let you know how it goes.

That is crazy and should never get to that point. What has been the official excuse?
Your Daughter if possible should just go to the Depot and pick it up her self, as I would have simply lost my faith in delivery after the 3rd day.
The courier industry is very poor as a whole, there are some good people that go beyond for the customer, I have been one of them but too many just dont care couple that with bad procedures and these kind of things happen.
PS
I am still wating, after having a nightmare with anovo (o2s repair company) I am being sent a new phone, I just have that feeling now that Yodel will be chapter 2 of my nightmare, and I wont see my phone for a while!!

Following on from Thurdays coversation with Yodel HO....
Me - Can I collect the phone on Saturday from the depot?
Yodel - Let me check yes they're open from 8 to 11.30. Let me book that for you, you'll need two forms of ID.
Me - Great!
What could possibly go wrong!!
I turn up at their depot in Loughborough at just after 8 with several other people (who had missed delivery cards telling them they could collect on Saturday) to be greeted with....
Yodel Employee - We no longer do Saturday collections!
Me - Thats not what your Head Office are saying.
Yodel Employee - Head Office told us not to open
Me (Walking away) - *** :robotmad:
Another ranting call to O2, another £10 credited to my O2 bill for the incovenience of driving 20 miles to Yodel and back for no reason.
O2 call Yodel HO, Yodel HO say they should be open and try to ring Loughborough depot but get no reply. Yodel HO assume their no open and launch so called investigation as to why they aren't aware.
Anyway i've been "Promised" a delivery on Monday. If I was the girl at O2 customer services I wouldn't Promise anything on the basis of Yodel delivering.
Whichever penny pinching suit at O2 decided (solely I assume on the basis of cost!!) to use this bunch of cowboys should really in the interests of cost cutting be picking up his P45! Smiley Mad

Loads of excuses - finally they admitted that they had lost the parcel and were instigating a search of the depot. Rang this morning to say it has been found and will be delivered Monday - we shall see.
