I've just been subjected to one of the worst weeks of my life, courtesy of the cretinous couriers Yodel! Has anyone else had problems with them? I'm in the stage of putting in a formal complaint to them so I'd be very interested to hear other people's views and experiences!

7.31 this morning on a day I was promised delivery, the tracking information at Yodel changes to "Parcel held at depot for collection".
Call to O2 at 8.45 they promise to call me back (hmmmm Saturdays adviser told me they couldn't do callbacks, this would be twice in a week!) when they hear back from Yodel.
Lunchtime still now news although parcel tracking has now changed 13.02 "Attempted delivery failed awaiting instructions" or something similar. I was sitting at my desk at work the whole time where they are meant to be delivering. Another call to O2 this doesn't apparently mean what it says at Yodel i'm told this actually means the parcel has just been passed to a courier.....errrr!. I've given the equivalent of one days line rental as compensation, that works out at 30 something pence, gee thanks for that insult, injury?. Assured delivery will be made tomorrow.
20 Minutes after hanging up finally get the call back out for delivery tomorrow before 10am. I won't be holding my breath.

Yodel seems to be disapointing a lot of people.
I am now on day 3 of waiting for my delivery.
25th - they have said they attempted to make delivery and left a card at 20:40, from 19:45 - 21:30 I was stood in my driveway with my next door neighbour while he did work on my car, so I can say that I know for a fact Yodel didnt attempt delivery.
Customer service are so rude, inturupted me and had problems stringing a sentance together.
26th - phoned O2 who said they would call Yodel and get them to redeliver today or leave with a neighbour. Nothing updated on Yodel tracking website but according to their CS team, 4 attempts were made, I was in all day and nothing was left with a neighbour which makes me think that no delivery was attempted. I was given drivers mobile number at 09:00. I called over 20 times, he hasn't answered his phone and his voicemail is full so I couldnt leave a message. I then sent him 2 text messages, still no response. Back to Customer service at Yodel who told me they were an inbound call centre and couldnt make outgoing calls, I hung up and called back and spoke to someone who seemed like they had a couple of brain cells who confirmed that they can make outbound calls, previous person, Charlotte is a liar. I was given number for the Reading deport, which did not answer my call.
27th - another call to O2, who have agreed to take £10 off the £27 it has cost me so far to call Yodel and would try to get them to deliver today. Finally got a call from Simon the driver who insisted delivery had been attempted, unfortunately for him he cant work a phone, while I was still on the line with him, he called another driver and forgot to mute my line so I could still hear every word, I found out my phone hasnt even left the depot and wow do they use bad language! Simon came back on the phone and told me the driver had tried to deliver to number 83 (not my house number and doesnt even exist on my road) i told him I head heard every word of his conversation and he assured me he would personally go to the depot and collect it and deliver by 12 today. No delivery so far. Tracking website states that my parcel left their deport at 14:27 today.
I have complained to Yodel and O2, no reposnse from either. I'm quite tempted to leave O2.
I had problems with HDN before and when I called Yodel I heard a prerecorded greeting telling me that Yodel is the new name for HDN. I've cancelled orders in the past from amazon when I have found out they were using HDN instead of Royal Mail because I knew I'd be waiting a week.
Yodel are a joke and should be avoided at all costs.

We used DHL at work for years. Last autumn we experienced "some difficulty". Last winter, however was the final straw.
I know it was a bad one and most of the couriers were "a bit sh1t" but DHL were far and away the worst. So much so that some of our gear didn't even arrive in the right year.
We now use UPS for all outgoing work and the difference is amazing. The cost did almost double but it's a multi million pound contract so we pay next to nack all anyway. We have to book online and there have been occasions where the collection driver srrived before I'd left the the desk....and they'll pick up more than once a day if more work needs to go out.
That said, there is usually a regular DHL (YODEL) driver back on our area again now (we still receive some things via them)and he is good but I'll never trust them with outbounds again.

o2 sent my broadband package with Yodel. What a disaster. The parcel when it arrived was marked "Express" On tracking the parcel I found it had arrived at the local centre 26 hours after being picked up by Yodel from o2. So it arrived on the delivery day (text from o2) at the centre at 6.38 in the morning and stated it was given to the courier minutes later. I waited in 12 hours for it's delivery and there was no sign of it. Yodel wouldn't answer the phone. I sent and email to which I received an automated reply that I would be contacted shortly. That they never did. A day later it was delivered to me. DHL were hopeless years ago and now as Yodel none the better.
I ask, why do o2 use such a hopeless company. They should change and get a reliable Courier. There are many good ones to choose from.
Yodel should be avoided.

"Do NOT trust them"
Quick story...
Ordered an Iphone 4S directly from O2. It was due to be delivered Tuesday 13th March. That morning O2 provide me with a tracking number, im at work but my girlfriend took the day off and stayed home waiting.
I routinely checked the tracking number and at approximately 5pm I saw that it had been received and signed for at 4:31pm but my someone called Martin...
Bear in mind my girlfriend is definately not called Martin, had been on the phone to me several times that day and was home with my 2 1/2 year old son, had been visited by my sister and basically not left the house.
So I instantly contact Yodel, to which they even confirm they arent sure who Martin is, what house it was delivered to or anything! They then promised to do enquiries and check with the driver. The driver was sent back out to collect the parcel from wherever he had delivered it to, which he clearly didnt do, instead he clearly drove past my house again and proceeded to provide them with some made up description of a man and stated what car was on our drive...
What he failed to realise, is that he described MY GIRLFRIENDS car and as she is 7 months pregnant, she has cut her hours drastically and is home ALOT.
Needless to say, Yodel are still arguing this, when it is clear that their driver either made a mistake and is refusing to admit it or he is committing fraud.
They rebranded from home delivery network (HDNL) to Yodel to try and escape their very bad reputation, trouble is they are still awful. Avoid them at all costs.
I have now cancelled completely with O2 because I refuse to go through the same experience with Yodel

Bear in mind you only hear about the problems on here. Yodel make hundreds of deliveries a day with no problems but inevitably when one goes wrong customers report it on the forum.

Maybe I'm just lucky but I can honestly swear that over the years I have been with O2, either employee or customer, I have never had a problem. Parcels delivered on time and in a lot of cases exceeded my expectations.

Only last week my dear wife's contract was ended and after speaking to customer service to migrate her number to P&G, they said they would send out a new sim and to contact them as soon as I had received it.4-5 days was their estimate for delivery.

So, as you do, being impatient, I called into the O2 store the day after for a free sim pack only to find that whilst I was out, Yodel had delivered the sim from O2 and kindly left it with my next door neighbour. Not only that, they sent me a text advising where they had left it.

As I say, speak as you find, but I have never had an issue with more than a dozen deliveries over the years.
