Why do I have to log in EVERY time ?

Why do I have to log in EVERY time I visit the forums now?

I see NO check box to tick to stay logged in.

And that's not even taking into account I have had to re register with a NEW name as my old one is no longer working.

Probably better to continue with your original thread than to keep starting new ones, then it's easier to follow what's going on.

But my OLD thread had NOTHING to do with having to sign in EVERYTIME I visit the site. The old thread was just about NOT being able to use my origional login details. Thanks to Abs I can now use my origional name but with my new email, Sort of resolved. But I'm happy with that. So Back to my Question of WHERE is the check box to stay logged in, like EVERY other forum has ?

The forum is new and there will inevitably be teething problems. I find it annoying that you have to sign in with your full email address and find it even more annoying that the automatic log out period is too short.

The best solution so far for me was suggested in an earlier thread. Using Firefox, there is a add-on to remember the password and log in details. My preferred browser doesn't have this option and O2 doesn't allow log in details to be saved so I now use Firefox for the forum.

Reload Every add on works for me in Firefox, set to every 5 minutes.

I understand this forum is new, but there was nothing wrong with the old forum. So far I have had to make a new account, get somebody to fix my old account and have to log in EVERY time I visit. The old saying of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' springs to mind here wink . And as for the remember user/password, that is almost a basic of every forum I visit.

This addon will allow firefox to remember your username and password.

I believe there's a way to do this with IE, don't remember what it is --- try google.

But a signin period is a standard on forums.

I take it this one has either been created in house, or they have really butcherd a off the shelf option.

The fact of having to signin everytime you revisit the forum is a major turn off.

Just tried the quick reply and that did not work either.

Quick Reply works for me!

The other problem is solved by using Reload Every.
