Who have o2 passed my details onto?

Am in a very annoyed mood right now so this will probably sound like a rant!

I am due/eligible for an upgrade of my handset/contract with o2.

So why am i getting constant calls from so called o2 affiliates trying to sell me one and sign with them? I questioned one caller, who admitted we have nothing to do with o2!!

How have they got all my details?

Only o2 hold them details as far as i am aware.

Had about five calls now from different companies in the last month, current one today was 'mobile solutions' iirc. WHO? Never heard of them or the others (of which i cant remember their names) and am sick of the cold calling.

If i find out it was o2 who has somehow compromised my details i will not be very happy and will pursue the matter further by some means. I do not need a third party selling me something i never knew i needed!

I just had a cold call from 07761 282827 from a man saying he was from 02.  I asked how I could be sure he was who he said he was.  He said "good question" my colleagues will vouch for me.  I was not 100% happy and he asked for my address which I gave. He then said my phone bill was around £17 which is lower than I pay.  He said he could get me more minutes.  He then asked what phone I had and that made me suspicious.  He would know if he was from O2?.  The call was then disconnected by him.  On checking my mobile I found another 07761 number ending in 282827.  Chat line seems to have gone down and I did not get a reply when I asked if this was a scam or it was a genuine 02 caller.  Anybody else had calls in the last few days?.

it's possibly one of 02's trusted partners.

Rule of thumb is not to enter into any upgrades through these types of calls but go through O2 on 202 , the O2 online page or go into a high street shop.
