Just thinking about returning a Y6 within the 14 days. This article suggests there might still be potential issues down the road.

There doesn't seem to be any advance in relations between the US and China so only you can decide what you want to do.

@Whiteadder There's this article today, which is a bit more encouraging (but not much): https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-china-huawei-tech/u-s-to-issue-licenses-for-supply-of-non-sen...

I think you'd be right not to be filled with optimism. My guess is that this situation won't be settled until just before the US 2020 election, so that Trump can look like a hero to the idiots who support him. That's just my personal opinion, though, so you can take it for what you will.

And is it fair to say that companies will have bought a load of Huawei phones and still want to sell them and will "reassure" you by telling you anything on the basis that if Android rescinds support in the future and customers start to lose apps then they can always upgrade their phone (and then they make even more money)?

@Whiteadder There are probably many different scenarios, and there will be many differing opinions on the subject. You'll have to decide for yourself. I don't think it's anyone's place here to tell you how to proceed.

You need also to consider the value of your phone when you come to sell or recycle. It will be worth peanuts.
