This has been mentioned in another thread but deserves a section of its own I think. @MI5 and myself have noticed a changed to Contact Preferences. Initially I had opted out of Marketing info....today we noticed there is a new layout for the page and suddenly mine have been turned on...Advise everyone to check. Mine looks like this...(or did as I have now turned off everything except Priority) @Toby is currently checking when these changes took place..

I doubt that too @MI5. I've always been careful to make sure new connections are added to my existing O2 account, and that separate accounts aren't created that then have to be merged in My O2. I also have one big airtime bill rather than separate ones. Would this be the same for yourself? There must be some difference between us for one to be affected and the other not

Marketing Settings are per line connection not per account.

My 2 remaining contracts are individual ones that are merged in MyO2 - Previously I had 3 contracts under one account but I closed 2 of them and then opened another (long story but related to F&F) and the shop managed to screw up the account addition so had to be done as a separate one (this was over 2 years ago though).
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I have a contract through a 3rd party; I have Tu and Priority installed.

However I cannot even check the contact preferences page as it is currently not available.

This last is the thing that makes it a little bit suspect (unless it is currently down for others?) as it would suggest somone has spotted an issue/mistake and has taken it down to rectify...

Hi guys, 

 

I can confirm that this issue is currently being investigated. We will be updating this thread once there is more information so please keep an eye on it. 

 

In the mean time I will be sending some of you private messages as we need some additional information to help look into this.

@gmarkj Just an FYI, my preferences page is up and running and was never unavailable today, as far as I'm aware, and just to add, none of my preferences had been changed. They are the way I had set them.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

I have looked both on laptop and phone in my 02 and can not find it 😞

Open My O2 then click on the 'More' tab then contact preferences

If it is the page I think it is, on the website log into my o2, click on your device/number, then at the top look for the "more" and an arrow which shows contact preferences.
not sure about for the app...

Thank you found it,

 

Mine was set to no.

 

But last couple weeks i have had loads calls from accident firms.

 

One when asked about accident i asked which one and they hung up.

 

I also have had a text when i opened it had a pin code so i spammed and blocked it

 

Got charged £1-67 for the pleasure of opening it .

 

So on phone to o2 complaining and kind lady reimbursed me £2-50 .

 

Well done o2 .
