I seem to be running round in circles at the moment trying to unlock my phone.
I sent in the form (android phone 18 months into 2 year contract) and got a mailed reply saying it's not an O2 phone. (And also giving me an email address to reply which apparently doesn't work any more - not really part of the problem except it's very unprofessional).
I paid O2 a hefty sum at the beginning of my contract & am paying them monthly for the contract & phone. How is it not an O2 phone? Or am I missing something obvious :s
TIA to anyone with ideas.

I wasn't doubting that at all.....just making a point that reading it for the first time...and since then, a second time...it is damn confusing...(and no.. it isnt age related confusion at all) #just saying...

I agree, it's difficult to follow seeing as the correct solution was given so early on.

To be fair, mine weren't.
I'll make sure I make them
**"COMPLETELY CLEAR"**
in future

Well not that I feel like I really want to but as I've been mentioned I will, since I've apparently caused all this "confusion".
So all clarify it for those who cant follow my line of thinking. O2 procedure (the real one) is if it's not sold by O2 then the unlocking code is to be requested from the 3rd party that sold the phone. That being the reason why the customer got that reply and the request was denied. As for the phone being locked to the first sim, it does happen more frequently with iphones but also happens with other phones (again not my opinion, fact. We deal with the escalations). As for cpw not being able to unlock phones, they can.(not my opinion, fact. They have their own system.managers have access to it although they don't like to use it for some reason. They ring customer services for support when they have issues with it).
So apologies for perhaps not being "clear" enough but I stand by what I said. Everybody is allowed their opinion I believe, so don't really understand what the issue is here...I though the point of this forum was to share your personal experiences and try to help others but for some reason that didn't seem to come across on this thread.

Well as I was the one who said I was confused I will attempt to explain. I came back to the thread after a few hours and read it from start to finish. It confused me....due to conflicting advice given.
I was speaking from the perspective of someone who 'knows nothing' ...... in fact similar to the poster who asked the question. I am not having a dig at anyone.....but there is an old saying... 'too many cooks'...etc etc etc
