Hi guys
my mum has an old basic phone with an O2 SIM card in it which has £40 credit.
I have recently bought her a Samsung Galaxy Alpha which only accepts Nano sim.
I now wish to get a nano SIM card with O2 to fit into the Samsung phone and then transfer the credit across. Is this possible? Can I just go and order a PAYG SIM card from the O2 website now and then call O2 or visit a shop to take care of the transfer?
many thanks.

You can get one online then when you receive it you are able to do the sim swap yourself using this link
Or you can pop into your local o2 store, pick up a sim & they will do the swap for you

Hi @Anonymous Welcome to the forum. Yes it is possible to transfer credit over. You can do this by contacting CS http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus Or it may be be done faster instore. Your choice. A family member did exactly this at Christmas. He lived close to the store so took that route...(They did the sim swap at the same time)

Make sure you get the correct type nano sim as they have separate ones for payg & pay monthly

This is why I find it much better to go instore. You can explain to a human what you want...Add to that... with me, I just act helpless. They are so pleased to help
It may vary store to store but mine is brilliant...Job done in 10 minutes

Thamks for the replies. She's not on any tariff as far as I'm aware. She doesn't pay a monthly fee or top up as far as I'm aware. She just uses her credit that's already on the phone as and when she needs to make a call.

One of the legacy tariffs then and we'll worth keeping as it obviously suits her needs. Whilst her number will be transferred straight away, the credit usually transfers 24 hours later. If this doesn't happen you may need to call customer service to get them to do it manually.
