For O2 customers on low price tariffs it's quite steep

@Enlli
Looks like they are trying to get rid of grand fathered accounts, and it is not the best way to deal with this... let people stay as they are until they upgrade..
Not sure if anyone has seen the email so none of us can comment.. but usually they dont write off the device plan as its a separate CCA
@Dave-O2 can you confirm??

Yes device plan has to be paid either in instalments or in full. Just the airtime can be cancelled

Thanks for the tag on this one @madasaf1sh
@pp763 is correct, you can either pay off the device plan in full or continue with monthly payments 👍

Im dreading the call tomorrow to cancel several airtime agreements that i no longer require which will save me a lot of money. Always stressful dealing with o2. You never know i might be pleasantly suprised

Why are O2 increasing their prices so steeply next year? Prices are going up for the various services from 10% to 25% which is way above inflation which is currently 1.7%. Why rob your loyal customer base? ....because its easy probably! Very disappointed.

Ive been on the phone today to clarify if I can cancel my contract 7 months left and have been told that Im out of contract and can cancel. I clarified if I need to pay the device part of the contact up was told that the cost would be the same as having airtime attached but then they asked retentions again as they had said im out of contract they said I can cancel all , device and airtime at no cost. so im gone tomorrow when the new SIM card arrives. Hope not to do battle with boiling at a later date but ive got the names and times of the calls to argue back with.

Because OfCom have banned the RPI/CPI+% price rises so all networks are now doing pound and pence, some like EE are increasing plans by upto £4 per month and some its based on your data allowance and some like o2 its a flat amount across the board..
So in a way the useless Regulator is to blame for all this...

Called o2 today. Press 1 to discuss the new ofcom ruling. I thought this is going well. Then got theough to overseas call center who said its a scam. Promptly called back and didnt choose that option and got through to uk call centre who handled everything brilliantly. Cancelled many airtime contracts for me.
