Stopping O2 Wifi auto connect

Anonymous
Not applicable

It's incredibly annoying that it auto connects to a O2 hotspot when you're in range. All your data stops because you're not properly signed in until you open your browser. This is fine if you're in a cafe etc and actually want to use the hotspot but what if you're just walking past a cafe with one in, or you're on a bus? Then it connects, cuts off your data until you go out of range.

Why can't we just have the option to turn off auto connect? This is really bad from a usability point of view as there is no point in opening your browser to connect to a hotspot if you're going to be out of range of it in a minutes time but this is what you have to do, or turn off your wifi manually to get back your 3G connection.  A simple option to auto connect or not would solve this and make the service much more user friendly for different needs/scenarios.

This is down to your phone settings, not the O2 hotspot! Simple answer is to turn off your Wifi...or tell your phone to "forget" the O2 Hotspot. Easy.
