Just been called by this number, Irish chap says he was with O2 and tried to get me to by a 'sim only deal'. He seemed to have all my details but then asked me to input the long number on my card! I said i wasnt happy with that and I would ring back when I got home after work. Basically he said they finished at 6pm and I would'nt be able to get this deal if I rung O2. My concern is, where the hell do they get the information from?? - caller: 0800 9524852

We suspect data bases have been passed but possibly this could be one of o2's trusted partners who I believe all have access to our information. Block the number and change your marketing preferences in my O2.

@AnonymousPersonally I would never sign up for any deal from a cold call. I dont care if they say they are from O2...or the President of the United States ......they can clear off in my opinion. Some can be genuine...many are not and those in the latter category can sign you up for all sorts of contracts that suit no-ones needs but themselves ...As said...turn off marketing preferences in My O2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

The biggest clue was, no you can't call O2 back....but give us the 16 digit number on your card. Yeah right! Smacks of Aerial....

It could be any of them to be fair, I personally wouldn't trust any of their partners!
