I rang Vodafone and O2 and they BOTH fob me off with "everything is fine with our network, its their fault not ours". Nobody will even bother to help or log a fault for me. All i need is a o2 engineer to talk to a vodafone engineer and get this working again.
I used to work at Vodafone and know that ported numbers can sometimes have issues.
If I cant get this resolved soon I am leaving O2 to go back to Vodafone as at least that will cure my problem.
Why will nobody look into this for me?!

They are the ones that own the number and they are the ones responsible for the switching and there is little O2 can do

I would also contact Vodafone, explaining the issue and asking them to investigate.

You'll need to call o2 customer services who will need to escalate the issue, this is done by filling in an electroninc form. It's proper name is an 'MNP Escalation' so if the advisor you speak with is needing some guidence use this term and hopefully they'll manage to put 2 and 2 together.
