Porting Numbers - Is this possible

Anonymous
Not applicable
My company will shortly be introducing company mobiles via 02. I am a current 02 personal customer as well on a contract. My wife is a current 02 customer on pay and go. When this happens I am going to pass my wife my current phone and contract. What I want to know is the following possible.

(1)My current 02 personal number - can this be moved to my new business mobile, means all my contact and business cards don't have to change.
(2)Can my wife's current pay and go number be then ported over to my personal account so that she keeps the same number.

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

Regards
Andy

Friad so mate! Good Luck!

You could try going into an O2 store and discussing it with them and seeing what they can do for you, but that said they seem to run their stores as a completely separate business to the online side of things and again separate to the business side of things.

I once took an iphone into an o2 store to discuss a problem and was basically told oh its on a business contract you need to call this number it has nothing to do with us.

My response: "It's an O2 this is an O2 store, same company!" - apparently not! - yes I was less than amused it was just after we took out our business contract and it was for a stupid little problem that took the apple store about 5 minutes to solve, but O2 store couldn't help apparently.

Customer Service is apparently a black art these days...

Oh yes definitely, didn't even intend to imply it was just O2 there, javascript:emoticon('')

Sorry O2! On the whole I have found your customer service when needed excellent, its just occasionally when you do drop the ball you do it spectacularly...

By design, porting a number closes an account (on all providers) . So you cannot do what you want to do.

Maybe porting is the wrong word then, transferring maybe?

Still no, once you move the number then it disconnects the account.
