Ported number can't receive texts

I ported my number over from Vodafone when I joined O2 three months ago, and since then haven't been able to receive any texts. I've spoken to customer services who say it's a network issue, but I can never get the same person twice and they all say they will get back in contact but never do. 

 

Looking at the forums it seems like this is a fairly common issue - has anyone managed to resolve it?
