O2 Forcing All Customers onto the New Price Rises

O2 has confirmed to ISPreview that they’re also emailing existing mobile customers to forcibly move them to the new pricing policy, albeit with a right to exit their contract as a result. This is as opposed to the usual approach, where such changes only occur for new customers or via natural re-contracting at the end of a contract term. We don’t think VMO2 are going to win too many adoring fans with this one

Personally I hope for a mass exodus

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Same. No email as yet.

@gmarkj Doubt the no price rise to 2026 will faze them. It seems it's pay up or get lost

Got the email a little earlier this morning, but interestingly the part about a price rise next year (2025) is missing.

It does say my data only or watch plan is going up 75p, but nothing about my airtime plan - so looks as though the annual increase is skipping me this time.

Which is good, as if my bill went up by £1.80 per month it would represent a 22.5% increase!!

Bought from O2 shop direct , but my bills only show the full amount as airtime nothing about a device, I hope thats why they say I owe no early term costs

@Enlli  Mine is the same, I also have a Three Data only sim which was £19.99 for 25GB every month till Feb 2027 slight_smile

Just to be totally clear @madasaf1sh, that is £19.99 as a completely one-off payment, not £19.99 per month ? 👍

It was a one off £19.99 via Amazon

Have a look on the ISPReview Deals forum, and you will see a ScanCom thread (not going to link to it here as it has lots of deals on it)..

Well my email came through this morning

As previously reported it tells me

With this in mind, we want to let you know that from April 2025, the cost of your data only or watch plan will increase by 75p a month.

No mention of phone and I neither have a watch or data plan with O2

Have O2, screwed up again?

Mine said the same thing @Enlli , and I took that to mean that my tariff is not increasing this time.

Is there a way to confirm this @Dave-O2 ? If the email does not have the specific line about annual increase are we not included this time?

Thanks @Enlli, @gmarkj

You will get separate messages for each connection you have, so if you have more than one, i'd expect another one to drop into your inbox over the next week or so.

@gmarkj Do you have a Mobile Broadband account? If not, please PM the email address or mobile number this email/SMS was sent to?

I'll PM the email address to which it was sent.
