Hi Guys,
I've just received an mms message from @bestatus regarding an outage in Brighton, Christchurch & Southampton areas.
Is there a similar twitter feed that I could subscribe to for O2 outages?

We currently don't have anything like that. The status pages should normally provide information on any outages though.
Cheers,
Leonard

But that's point isn't it ?.......the O2 status pages don't....or at least not in a timely fashion, unless O2 have learned from the last outage incident.......we'll have to wait until the next outage to find out !

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply Leonard,
Bit of a catch-22 situation though because if there is a broadband outage you won't be able to access the status page!
@The way @bestatus works is that it is a twitter feed for network problems only and it is easy to configure twitter to send a text message from selected feeds (free of charge!)
However, if it is a mobile outage, that is a different story!

Look at other isp's mine Part of the plusnet group uses twitter as soon as issues identified.
As others have stated status pages are fine as long as you have a backup method of reaching the page if you have an adsl issue.

No mention whatsoever on the O2 status page.
As can be seen below, something was not right. Now in this instance it may be a minor problem although I don't think gamers would be impressed with the increased latency.
At least Be* acknowledged there was a problem.
