I already have an O2 phone account with nhs discount. If i were to buy a monthly Ipad contract, would i be able to get the nhs airtime discount on it too?

Yes, have a look at https://o2open.co.uk and login and the discount that is applicable can be applied to your account. 

There is a caveat and this is the exclusions below
