Has this update worked for anyone because I just keep getting a message saying that my firmware can't be upgraded. I spoke to o2 about it and got told the following....

You're through to Lyndsey.
Lyndsey: Hi I'm Lyndsey. How can I help?
Hayley: Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy Europa and have had a few network problems. I went into my local carphone warehouse who spoke to someone in your call centre who assured me that it was a network issue. I keep getting certain texts through multiple times whilst other texts don't come through at all. I was given a link to download Kies and then upgrade my phone firmware but it wont let me upgrade my phone. Is there any way you could help me with this?
Lyndsey: I'm sorry about this. There is a known issue with the Samsung Galaxy Europa phone. The issue is caused by a chip within the device and how it reacts with Android operating system.
Hayley: Is there anything I can do to fix this or will I need to replace my phone?
Lyndsey: Did you buy it online?
Hayley: No, I bought it from a Carphone Warehouse store
Lyndsey: Then you can return it to them for replacement.
Hayley: Is there no other way of fixing this issue as I have already spent a lot of my internet usage on downloading apps for my phone?
Lyndsey: I'm sorry as this is a problem with the phone we cannot fix it. The method of downloading the software was given to us by the manufacturer.

Well there could be a return here for me too.
Myself and my girlfriend both have these phones, and have suffered the repeated text thing too long, and have tried the upgrade route, which now seems to have failed as we were getting dozens and dozens of the same text and also the phone goes through a spell of "scanning media" every 2 to 3 mins for 5 or 6 times in a row every few hours.

Turns out it was an SD card problem, which is quite common with phones apparently, so stuck it into laptop, took everything off, formated card, and then copied everything back on, seems to be working now!
