Moving from O2 Pay & Go

I need to change my son's O2 Pay & Go to EE because we do not get a signal in the village we live in. I visited an O2 shop in Aberdeen today and they told me that it would cost £15; surely that isn't correct?!?

It's a standard PAYG unlocking fee for everyone no matter where they are.
You can try complaints to see if they will fix it for you http://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain or if you have access to an o2 contract sim you can get it unlocked for free?

Hi, yes it is an iPhone 4s. I have an iPhone 5s with an O2 Business Sim in it, could I put that one into the 4s and it would unlock immediately? Could I then use the EE sim?

Put the contract sim in the phone you want unlocking and use it to register it on the network - a day should do it, then fill out the unlock form and it won't cost you a penny slight_smile

Brilliant, thanks for all your help and advice😃
One last thing, after I put the sim in, do you mean that I have to keep it in the 4s until I send the unlock form and receive a reply?

Unfortunately, when I went to change out the sims I discovered that the 5s is a different size to the 4s, so won't fit😩
It looks like I am going to have to pay O2 for not being able to provide a service after all😡
