Thought I would mention this here as a standalone topic.
Knowledge Base guides are being produced with current updated information.
The forum still has Index of Help guides available...which are all in one place and easy to find HERE
Problem is, some of the Index guides are outdated...but the format for finding them (in one section) is better than finding KB guides which are all over the place
Two suggestions
1) When a guide is updated the link should take us directly to the new KB guide
2) The KB guides.. when completed, should go in one easy to find section
Just asking for opinions...?

It's just confusing to have all the Index of Help links in one place, easy to access and provide info quickly......though being unsure whether ...
1) The guide is outdated
2) A KB guide has been produced which is more current
3) If a KB guide has been produced...where is it?...(so I end up posting the Index guide knowing it 'may not' be current...)
Not happy doing that if honest...

Any guides are factual and correct when initiated by a community member and checked by O2, whether it's admin or fed back. I would want the guide in the KB to always be available for editing by the author and then confirmed by O2 and authenticated before the edit is accepted. Many sites have this in place so it shouldn't be difficult. As I have said before, some authors no longer contribute on here for one reason or another and those guides in particular need to be looked at for being uptodate.

Are the edits a post/reply or do they go to someone for review?
So a bit like the inappropriate content option?
It used to be that anyone could modify an article and the only option to post it was "send for review".
This would then be checked and either posted or deleted by admin, but that went away due to the change to blog style posts.

Seeing @gmarkj post.....I will say he has recently completed a great new KB guide. I can never find it.
Purely because it could be anywhere on the forum
Had to go on a "bear" hunt to find it as well - not in the community/knowledge base section, but under o2 products & services/apps (as it is about an o2 app...)
http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Apps/My-O2-App-guide/td-p/1010668
and as an expansion @Fellwalker has gone into more detail about bolt-ons here -

To be honest, the index is the one that should be kept up to date with guides/articles. That should be like a contents page (or an index, if you will) which lists everything that has been written so long as it is still correct.
Depending on whether or not the original author can/wants to, the original articles being updated are the first option. Re-writing or new guides are an alternative, but only so long as they cover the topic (or at least allow for later updates).
Ideally all guides should be accessible from two sources - a central point, like the KB section (or the index) and also as part of the correct area. In the example of the My o2 app, it should be in both the apps sub-forum and the KB.
Whether or not it is a duplication (not ideal) or hosted in one place and linked to from both (better in terms of space and efficiency) is something for o2/Lithium to sort out...

I store the Index guides in one link (in One Note) ...A click ....and all of them are there to access.
You are making my point exactly @gmarkj I have only once posted your guide. To find it I had to go back into the October rewards and access via Martins link. Not good enough when we want to provide info in timely manner. I have saved it to one note now....but that means there are loads of links in there...instead of one taking me directly to all of them...

I have to say when @MI5 compiled all current guides under one banner it was a lifesaver for me personally.
It lists the authors so recognition is given...and access is quick.
My theory is, if I don't know where to find them....then newcomers certainly wont....
I have also said previously there should be a schedule for updating at least annually (or when new info becomes available) . This will always ensure info is current
