Has O2 leaked customer data?

Recently I fell victim to a scam from a caller pretending to be O2.  I became suspicious after the call and phoned O2 back which is what confirmed it was a scam.  The person I spoke to was extremely helpful, however afterwards when I reflected, I became concerned about the amount of information the scammer knew about my O2 account.

I've had ongoing network coverage problems (which still isn't resolved, but never mind *sigh*) and the scammer actually said they were phone because of my recent problems with network coverage (so they knew I had an ongoing issue). Without going into all the details of the conversation, they also knew what type of phone I had, what my monthly payment was, what bank I am with, my address and obviously my name and phone number.

Some of this data is very specific! So, how did they find out this information is what is confusing me? Have O2 leaked customer data or been cyber attacked or something as where else would a scammer be able to get information like this which is very specific to data O2 would hold?

@Alex19

You need to check your marketing preferences in your MyO2.

O2 share your data with approved third parties if you have the permissions set to do so.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I don't think O2 is leaking data. But one rogue employee in one of their Trusted Partners, well I can't say

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Thanks, I just checked there (they don't make it easy to see this stuff) and I don't have those permissions enabled to share my data with other companies etc, but glad I was able to check and make sure.
