I've been trawling the discussion boards for MMS Settings for my unlocked HTC Wildfire. I have the following for both Web & MMS Settings:
Web
Name: O2 WEB Postpay
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Proxy:
Port:
Username: O2web
Password: password
Server:
MMSC:
MMS proxy:
MMS port:
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: default
MMS
Name: O2 MMS Postpay
APN: wap.o2.co.uk
Proxy: 193.113.200.195
Port: 8080
Username: o2wap
Password: password
Server:
MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.02.co.uk:8002
MMS proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS port: 8080
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: *
I have sent out an MMS which should be included in my tariff but when I sent it I got the HDSPA symbol with the arrows flashing and when i've gone onto "My O2" i've been charged 85p for data usage under wap.o2.co.uk. Can anybody help me as to why i'm being charged for this or this normal for this phone??
P.s. the green dot is highlighted on the O2 WEB Postpay.
Many thanks.

They should be able to credit you for any charges made in error.

Do you have a data allowance, because without it an Android phone is going to be expensive to run (you'll pay the web daily charge most days as the phone syncs etc)

There are some new packages coming which include an MMS allowance, but they also include data.

No I don't have a data bolt on but surely this shouldn't make any difference for MMS? I've also been charged for receiving an MMS.
The phone uses data for other things so you will be charged for that. if you disable data then you won't be able to send or receive MMS. The closet you can get is an app like APNdroid which will try to disable data but keep MMS.
