Well that didn't take long!
Guess it's indicative of the world we live that there are people determined to find flaws and faults in absolutely everything that is produced...and in people/celebs if it comes to that

I'm waiting for any Galaxy 5S owners reporting back if it actually works as it should etc.

The scariest thing about this is that S5 users could easily have their PayPal accounts hacked into using this technique...even after the phone is restarted.
As Samsung allow its sensor to be used by third party apps, there is a real risk that someone could lose alot of money using this technology.
Apple at least limits access to its sensor to the Apple App Store, and requires the passcode to be entered after restarting the phone.
Its worth remembering though that this "hack" was produced by a security research firm who have all sorts of specialist tools at their disposal...and that as yet the hack probably isn't "in the wild".

All if's I agree but if it can be done then someone will if the gains are high enough. 😞

Ive not seen any reports in reference to the iPhone but that doesn't mean it has not happened.
One of my concerns was a person being mugged for their iPhone and the ordeal lengthened while they were made to unlock the phone via fingerprint and then made to turn it off.
As as I understand both phones don't actually store a finger print. It's some mathematical algorithm or similar which can be hacked.
