Hi

I am travelling to Japan next month for 3 weeks. Can anyone recommend a Data SIM for use whilst I’m there? Thank you.

You would be better off with a Japanese sim. I bought one there because O2 was virtually unusable when I went.

Yes as long as your phone is unlocked. O2 haven't locked their phones for a couple of years so just try another UK network sim in the phone. If by any chance it is locked to O2 then follow this link to get it unlocked.

Hey there @lilmspurfic , I hope you got all the information you needed about using data in Japan, but don't hesitate to come back to ask if you have any additional questions. Hope you have a lovely time in Japan! slight_smile

Thanks for all the advice above @jonsie ! thumbsup

@lilmspurfic

Another option for an unlocked phone is a World Sim https://www.worldsim.com/

This has the advantage of giving you a UK number so people at home can call you without extortionate charges.
Ive used one for years all over the World and always had good coverage and data speeds.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

@MI5

Would this have been useful for my grandson? I'm not talking about whilst on the cruise ship obviously., but when he lands in strange Caribbean islands?
