No the bill is dated from the 28th April when I ordered it, the line rental and the add-ons have been pro-rata'd, please read the whole post before quickly jumping to defend something you don't have the whole facts for.

Yes, 28th April to 27th May, in advance, as I mentioned that and said that you can get a credit for the unused days whilst awaiting delivery perhaps you can point out what facts I was missing or what I got wrong?

Having just rung Customer Services, he checked the order status and said that yes it was showing as having been despatched on the 28th April, this was then cancelled and is now showing as awaiting collection from the Service Depot in Leeds and should be with me no later than Wednesday.

So not despatched at all yet then. That is not good. Like I said, providing you don't choose to cancel instead, be sure to get those charges credited back.

As I and others have said before (don't know whether or not you have read it so I will mention it again) the Wedding date was announced well in advance for O2 to have adjusted the system to show that the 29th was a Bank Holiday and therefore take it out of the ordering system. As you said a little "commonsense" from someone in authority to have put that measure in place would result in people not expecting something that has been "promised" and "confirmed" in emails.
Nothing petulant in expecting to receive my handset on the day when they told me I would receive it.

No, not a all, but spitting the dummy put and choosing to start all over again rather than wait another day is, dont you thnk?
Maybe you are not reading all the posts as I already covered them offering dats that cannot be met, didn't I?
Edit to add, apologies, my advice about getting unused charges refunded doesn't seem to be here for some reason. Nevertheless, I would urge you to do it.

Okay, where have I said I would cancel and start the order with O2 again?? There would be absolutely no point in cancelling the current order and starting again with the same Company, don't you think?
I meant cancelling and looking elsewhewre. wink
Again, read what I put please - I did put it was pro-rata'd from the 28th April to the 2nd May when my billing date is, not from the 28th April to 27th May. tongue
The General point I am and was making is that for some reason or another the Customer Service provided so far has been none existent. Another Example is that I emailed them on the 29th to find out why it was offered and why it showed as being Despatched on the 28th when they obviously knew that it wasn't going to happen. I received a mail back on the 30th (2 days ago) asking for the 2nd and 3rd character of my password so that they could answer my query, whcih I replied to straight away and since then, nothing. :womanindifferent:
I like to deal with Companies who pride themselves in Customer Service and put the Customer first, so far, I don't see that happening. The guy I spoke to on Customer Services was polite enough but couldn't answer my Questions. The guy I spoke with on the 29th on Live Chat was polite enough but then could only give me a number for DHL to ring, would have been nice for him to have done that himself or got someone else to do it and then ring me back. I know for a fact that Orange will ring the Courier Company for you to check the status of a delivery.
For the 4 days I've been a Customer (if you can call me that at the moment since I still haven't got a handset or used the network) I seem to have hit brick wall after brick wall. It's okay being polite, but if you can't offer any help what's the point of being there? Yes, they've agreed to refund the line rental as a gesture of goodwill, but again, no goodwill about it, I haven't in my view started the contract as yet due to the fact that I haven't got the tools to use it yet. grin

Yeah, that's what I thought you meant. It's still starting again isn't it? :womanindifferent:

Again, I did read what you wrote. You never mentioned pro rata, you said the bill was DATED 28th April, not FROM that date. The bill includes 30 days tariff charged from the day it is DATED. I was responding to your own words. Not my fault if you can't write accurately tongue

No arguments there, can't speak for the online guys, who I've had my own issues with due to various combinations of incompetence and not understanding the question, but the phone guys will generally call DHL for you, unless they are closed in which the tel number, for when they are open again and your parcel number is as much as they can give.

I'd rather someone honestly said they didn't know than just make something up/guess which, tbh, it sounds like at least one agent you've spoken to has done. If it's with the courier they can't know without checking, if it's not yet been despatched ( as in your case) then they should not be referring you to DHL as they haven't even got it yet.
The trouble is that after mr stab-in-the-dark has steered you wrong, even when someone else gives you the correct info it feels like you're getting the run around.

Ah see, I thought you'd remember that I'd mentioned it in the other Topic we were having the same discussion on. My Bill date is the 2nd of each Month. grin
I think we're both getting to a point of mutual acceptance of each others point of view on the matter so I think it's best we leave it were it is.

Thanks everyone for advice about refunding the delivery,
Samabamb: I think me and you are in the same boat, my phone was ordered last week, wednesday night, and all through the delivery page it implied friday delivery. And today they want me to pay £3.60 on top of my normal monthly fee to count for the usage from Thursday til today!! Hope you get your phone soon too, but I spoke to someone over the weekend and O2 aren't releasing the handsets to DHL until after the Bank Holiday weekend, and before anyone says anything DHL have been operating all over the weekend. I had a delivery this morning from DHL with a SportsWorld parcel that I only ordered on Friday night.
Just a tad annoying when you expect something and it dosen't turn up, as if we knew it would be a week etc we could plan, instead we waste time off work to wait in!

I don't remember jack, as anyone who knows me would tell you grin
I think you're right.
Joey, this extra is the pro rata that me and samabamb have been on about, ask O2 to wipe it off as they have billed you for service you haven't had. When your collecting the phone from a store or you get it the next day it's fair enough, but not when you've been waiting several days for delivery.

Well the good news is that the DHL page has now changed to the parcel arriving in the local Service Centre and not the Leeds Service Centre at 05:02 this morning, so fingers crossed that I receive delivery today.
Yes Joey give them a ring, I did and they've refunded the line rental up until today for me.

The key phrase is "out for delivery", then it's on a van out on the public highway. Hope that appears soon.

I ordered the phone Sunday and it's out for delivery today so they definitely were releasing the handset over the bank holiday weekend.
That's of course assuming it's the correct phone they've sent me 😐
