It's a simple call to 202 but as it's in your partners name they need to call.

Your partner merely needs to request the number to be transferred to a P&G sim card after closing the account. O2 will send the simcard out by Royal Mail.

Just to add you can then transfer that number to your monthly sim only account.

That account would then be in the partners name which maybe not what the OP wants having already ordered the sim only contract

As long as both parties are there for the phone call, the number can be moved from one account holder to another.

Read the opening post and you will see that the contract has already been take out and the sim ordered. Changing now would mean cancelling and starting again with all the messing about and jumping through the hoops that o2 toss around without a care in the world.
