Cancelling Disney+ as an Extra

Can anyone advise whether it's correct that if you add Disney+ as an Extra without the £2 airtime discount the 6 month minimum term doesn't apply?

Background:

I've had Disney+ for a while & get the £2 airtime discount too. From Nov I get a deal with my bank which allows me access to Disney+ for free annually until I have my bank acc. So I decided to check on X/Twitter with O2 whether if I went ahead & cancelled Disney+ if it would be gone immediately or would I still have access until my new bill generated. I got told I'd still have access until the new bill (which generates in 11 days).

Turns out this is wrong and my Extra got cancelled immediately.

Sought help from O2 via their chat. First got offered Disney+ for 6 months for free which is not useful given I'm getting it free from Nov permanently but have to select the deal in Nov. I said all I wanted was to ensure that if I reselected the Extra I wouldn't get charged more for the 11 days until my bill generated and I'd pay anything after as normal. I didn't want to pay a penny more than I should've because it wasn't my error.

O2 said the best they can do is to give me £6 credit to cover the cost of the 11 days and then I can just pay as normal & I could just go ahead and select the Extra. Went to do this and saw the 6 month minimum term applies warning, query this and get told yep, if I selected the Extra now this term would apply so I wouldn't be able to cancel in a month's time like I wanted.

They advised me to add the Extra without the airtime discount and then the 6 month minimum term doesn't apply. Does anyone know if this is true? I don't trust what they're saying given so far they've either given me wrong or incomplete info. There's also the issue that even if it were true, I'd still be out of pocket as the £6 credit likely would not cover the additional charge.

Any help would be appreciated.

@Maryjanesdesk Take the £6 credit and live without Disney for a few days, unless you really want to go through a lot of confusion and unnecessary charges which is bound to happen.

@Maryjanesdesk

The minimum term applies to any of the payment scenarios, sorry.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Yeah that's what I thought. The O2 person on chat keeps giving me the wrong info. Ugh. Right I think I'm just going to have to leave it and just keep the £6 credit.

Can you not just subscribe on the Disney website for 1 month and cut O2 out of the equation? @Maryjanesdesk

Most subscriptions have a minimum term but at this point I might just do that. I haven't checked to be honest but will do. Thanks for the suggestion.
