Calling Portsmouth number with the STD 02393

Anonymous

Hi
Can someone help, I am trying to get o2 to rectify this problem. 02393 is the STD code for Portsmouth however for some reason o2 phones can't call numbers with this STD. Other networks are fine Orange and Vodafone.
So please can someone either give me the department to contact or resolve the issue?
Many thanks
Mike

The same thing has already happened in Cardiff.

Cardiff numbers use the (029) area code and initially the local numbers began 20xx xxxx only.

That didn't stop many people assuming the area code was 02920 or 0292.

When the 20xx xxxx numbers had all gone, new numbers were issued all beginning 21xx xxxx.

That didn't stop the local press incorrectly moaning about a new 02921 code: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales ... -26546062/

Now that the 21xx xxxx numbers have run out, new numbers in Cardiff begin 22xx xxxx.

All of these come under the single 029 area code.

Over the weekend I found out that 02393 is a code being given to new customers of SKY. Just for the time being it is them only but in the future who knows?

There is no 02393 code.

All Portsmouth and Southampton numbers come under the single 023 area code.

Southampton numbers begin with 80 or 81, and Portsmouth numbers begin with 92 or 93.
