Hi guys,
I'm tempted (although not completely convinced) to get the new iPhone. I'd be buying it on PAYG, and sticking my existing SIM card in it (well, cutting it down or getting a Micro SIM for the same number anyway)...
I'm currently on a £40/month contract with an HTC Desire (think it's called online 35 or something?) and I have unlimited data and wifi. If I change over to the iP4, and have to get a new micro SIM, will my contract change to reflect the new data usage caps?
Apologies if this has already been answered. Thanks for your help in advance
Mark

ancientferguson - That's the answer I was hoping to hear
That means I can (if I decide to) get the new iPhone and not be restricted by what appear to be unrealistic data usage limits - well, for the next 15 months until my contract runs out at least

I take it you could make £250 or so back on the Desire, on ebay? Providing you haven't worn it out!

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Should be able to get £250 for it, as it's in the same condition it was in when I got it out of the box! It's just a question then of whether I want to stump up the additional £250(ish) for an iP4 when, on the face of it, they're no better as a smartphone - they just have a pretty screen!
My trouble is that I'm a bit of a gadget junkie and I won't be happy until I've owned and tried an iP4. If it's no good, or I prefer the Desire, then I'll just eBay the iPhone, get most of my money back, and get another HTC. That's the plan anyway

O2 can still cap data usage on existing iphone tariffs. They just need to give you some sort of notice. My advise would be to calculate if a pay as you go handset or new contract is cheaper.
