So, my tariff signed up in July is now increasing by 26% and the opening line of the email says 'You’ll be moving to a cheaper tariff which will cost £12.63* per month'.

The old tariff signed up to was £10 a month.

I have been given unwanted, unuseable additional data allowance - and I am told that I have no choice.

Presumably I can leave O2 with no penalties given that O2 has reneged on the contract within three months.

Is this how UK mobile oeprators opreate - charge you more for something you already don't use and then lie to you saying its a lower tariff ?

@A_Brit_Abroad

We can't access accounts, so you need to contact O2.
All numbers are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
Or 202 from your O2 mobile.
Advice from an O2 Guru to get through:
When you call 202, you will be asked for the reason you are calling.
Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
You can also try saying "Upgrade" or "Fraud" to be connected to an advisor.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
