It's rather interesting because it predicted we would have some of the highest mobile charges in Europe when we ended up with some of the cheapest.
I suppose because it wasn't foreseen that subscriber numbers would be so high.

Nice picture of my old Siemens phone there, which I still have and still works.

If the licences had been sold properly for what they were really worth, we would be paying peanuts for mobile services, mind you I don't reckon we're far off that now.

Imagine the network coverage and quality we would get now if they hadn't been slaughtered in the auctions.

Slightly depressing that the money raised was effectively given away. Think what those billions could have done for education etc.
It also gave the government the idea that spectrum could be sold off. When a different block was sold, it fetched less than 20million pounds.

The National Debt that was paid back was in main to the Americans who were still charging us for help during the Second World War!
