Unlimited data on all smartphone tariffs is a promotion until 1 October 2010.
I've joined the forum just to post my view of the recent change to data allowance, I read that 2.4% of users are taking up 37% of data use. Our guy here would certainly fit into the 2.4% however as far as i'm concerned this excessive data use is the fault of o2 NOT the customer. Plastered all over the site are the words "Excessive usage policy and terms apply" I don't think even Mr o2suck would disagree that the figures he talks about are excessive so why have o2 allowed him and others like him to continue. My contract expires on the 12th June and I am now waiting for other networks to show what their tariffs are going to be, if any one of the 5 networks offer "Unlimited Data with Fair Use Policy" I think o2 will see a mass exit by their customers, they certainly won't see my arse for dust. I've been very happy with o2 and i love my iphone, one of the reasons is that i don't have to worry about how I use it. It's sad but I suspect other networks will follow o2's policy but, for o2 to allow 2.4% of users to abuse the system and risk upsetting 97.6% seems like madness to me.
