Has anyone had any fraudulent on their mobile after receiving a call from an 0845 number ?  O2 says they will refund and accept there is a problem.  Has anyone had the refund ?

Any fraudulent what @Anonymous? Have you clicked on a link in a text message and been charged for something? I'm surprised that you've said that O2 has agreed to refund you. They normally don't and you have to put in a claim here: http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/

Accept there is a problem? *thinks* ... 0845 calls that charge on recieve...

Sounds like a fellow advisor not wanting to look too far into it, and just be rid.. but I could be wrong... likely I'm not... maybe...

I'm not aware of any 0845 calls that charge you when they call you first... I know I've dealt with a few 08000MUMDAD calls where some have abused it ...

But an 0845 that charges you when they call you... no.. I think if OFCOM (and a few others) gets wind of this (and it's real) they'll drop 10 tonnes of.. "you know" on it ...  that in effect goes against the entire principle of call charges... without looking at the bill I would only hazard a guess tbh, with so little information.. the sheer amount of 084* numbers around are staggering to isolate them all at once.

From my own experience with sorting bills out for people and breaking it down to the seconds... and not being able to see this number and the bill directly... this sounds a little... "dubious" on many accounts...

I know there are a handful of 0845 calls that ARE free.. but they are few and far between... majority are usually chargeable.

I'd say PM me the number and I could look into it.. but it's not my role here.. I'm just a fellow poster/traveller. Bouncy

Indeed as we have advised others previously - There is no way you can be charged for an inbound call unless you are roaming off your home network.

Well the OP has had two mentions and didn't return to answer any queries, so it doesn't look as if we'll ever know what they had come to the forum for.
