02 open discount....will it work

I've be sent a friends and family 30% discount code from o2 open (family member in the RAF). I'm looking to upgrade to the new Sony Z5. When I asked someone on the online chat they said the o2 open code may not work on the Sony Z5 but they weren't entirely clear. Before I upgrade I want to know if the code will definitely work, any ideas of how I can find out a definitive answer!?

Only one phone is exempt currently. The iphone 6S You will need to be on a Refresh contract

As far as I know and from the website only the iPhone 6s is excluded.

I've just spoken to another online guru who said the Sony z5 is exempt so now I'm confused!

There's nothing official saying it cannot be used against it so I would go for it myself.

And to be honest if it isn't showing as exempt in the website FAQ's he hasn't got a leg to stand on legally.

Remember the discount is only off the airtime part of the contract too, not the total monthly cost.
