I have upgraded from an iPhone4S to an iPhone 5S recently. First thing I notice is that I can't get the same wifi signal within my own house. If I happen to be more than about 5 metres away from my access point the wifi drops to zero and I can't use it. Turning airplane mode on and off seems to sort this out.
When making calls the signal drops slowly but surely until my call fails. I have a couple of friends with the iPhone 5S and they have the same experience and do not always have the same provider. Again from "No Service" I can hit the airplane mode on and off and get a good 3G signal (or even 4G occasionally). I have had neither issue with the iPhone 4S and am close to returning my iPhone 5S as unfit for purpose. O2 should be putting some pressure on Apple to sort this issue out.
I know I am not the only person suffering with this issue so come on O2 say something about it.

Hi Bobski and Welcome to the forum,
I would suggest you check your Service Status just to check your local masts http://status.o2.co.uk/
Try a simple reboot : Press the top power button and home button together until the apple logo appears, and then let go.
And or : Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Your sim card could be at fault too ref calls.
Remove the sim card and wipe it with a clean dry cloth. Reinsert and try again.
Another option is to visit an o2 store and ask for a blank sim for your account type and ask them to sim swap for you in store, or have one posted out and perform the swap yourself using the link http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/
Try resetting your home router and or choosing another frequency channel.
Finally an Apple genius bar will be able to run a diagnostic on the iphone.
Make an appointment here http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/
Hope all goes ok for you.
